When, I first purchased this machine, I could not believe how awesome this machine was. When my Orthopedic doctor first mentioned this machine, I have to tell you that I thought it was something that just couldn't work. Well, I got the machine and the shoulder wrap. I have a degenerative spine and have had several spinal fusions. As time goes by, I am in more and more pain. I had a morphine pump implanted but had to have it removed do to an infection in the pump. I now take 200mg of oral morphine, 3 times a day. It hardly touches the pain anymore. This system is so much easier than Ziploc bags filled with crushed ice. First, you can be assured the wrap will stay where it is needed; even when you move around in your bed or chair. Secondly, there are no sharp corners of ice that will push into the injured area. Thirdly, the wrap is a constant, light weight that does not add pressure to the injured area. Finally, the ice in the unit lasts much longer so your caretaker is free to do other things for you. All in all, I believe this system helps ease your pain and speeds your recovery.

VitalWrap provides a constant temperature that is not too cold like ice and keeps it cold for as long as you want. In addition to the compression from the wrap it offers another component to the R.I.C.E. therapy acronym (Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation) that ice packs alone cannot offer; you only have to provide the rest and elevation.
